Reporting to: Managing Director/Operations Manager

Responsible for: Stock maintenance and production/packing schedule.

 

Main Purpose

Overall responsibility for the ownership and development of a Production/Packing Scheduling System. Ensure production meets targets and product is delivered to customers on time and in full. Production status communications to support production/packing departments.

Ensure ingredients/packaging availability according to production/packing requirements. Ensure ingredients/packaging are purchased meeting quality, safety and legal requirements. Ensure all ingredients/packaging are purchased from approved suppliers. Utilize, monitor and develop the Supply Chain to meet internal and customer requirements. Maintain ERP system to represent an accurate portrayal of materials within the factory.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Planning Production: Maintain and manage the scheduling system on a daily basis to support production including timely completion of orders, communication of out of stocks. Plan production according allergens handling. Review scheduling requirements and ensure products are manufactured within scheduled deadlines. Ensure timely, full and accurate communication with all relevant departments on any factors which impact on delivery dates, commitments to customers, quality etc. Update production times, yields to ensure that the bakery operates efficiently.

• Purchasing: Responsible for all purchasing ingredients, packaging & consumables relating to quality, cost, and production schedules. Participate in supplier selection, reviews, scorecards and corrective actions. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships. Generate purchase orders, ensuring that materials are not over/under ordered

• Stock Take: Monitor inventory usage to ensure materials are available for production. Participate with physical inventory count. Ensure all data is up to date and correct according to stock in house. Work with Bakery Manager to ensure monthly stock take/reconciliation takes place. Advises of any excessive finished stock that needs to be despatched.

• Analysis: Prepare and analyse reports based on OTIF, wastage, time & motion and down time. Prepare information to help improve/resolve production issues. Continuously seek opportunities to improve external & internal processes.
